Not Great
I love Dara and I quite like Josh, but this is disappointing. It feels too scripted and stiff. Structurally and narratively it's a mess. I came to this not knowing anything about Ali Dia and after this first episode, which bounces between his debut, Italia 90 and another player's story entirely, I still don't know much of anything or how most of it connects. From what I have learned so far, it doesn't feel like a story that warrants being stretched out this much. It apparently ends with a hook for the next episode and yet carries on playing what I assume are clips from that next episode with no context as to who is talking, which is just confusing and feels like someone from TV thinking attempting to a do a "next time" trailer over the end credits, which doesn't work in audio. This is also a new nadir in the commercialisation of podcasts. It's only a 30 minute podcast but contains two ad breaks, an opening sponsor plug and a lengthy, cringey host read for a sponsor (protein supplements, lads? Really?).Read full review »

Ad breaks at the beginning middle and end are an instant ick. Plus, I never see the point in having someone dub commentary. If you’re not going to play the original, then just don’t bother with any.

Funny and informative Pod with two excellent presenters and plenty of interviews and behind the scenes reveals - lovely stuff
