Rips off The Daily - but why not
Blatant imitation of the hit formula at NYT’s The Daily - expertise of in-depth in-house reporters reversioned in conversational, analytical format with engaging and engaged host, and audio craft applied via archive, actuality and adept use of music. Ellie Kulas is no Mikey Barbaro - but she’s good as EK, opting for authenticity rather than a poor copy. Very strong start and a welcome addition to narrative news formats for Australia.
