Obviously thorough and insightful research and careful and creative field/studio work, plus on-target custom music adds up to great production values and a story that’ll have you listening to the whole thing, whether you live in CO or not. More! We want more!

I recently started listening to this show and I LOVE it. Jake and Noel choose great stories, ask insightful questions, and leave me wanting to know more and more about this city I’ve lived in for 5 years. Thank you!!

As a local who lives in the shadow of America's Mountain I am so happy to have this podcast in our city. The story telling is equivalent to any national journalism podcast. Engaging and much needed to be told, the topics are well chosen. I can't wait to make this apart of my weekly routine.

As a lifelong Colorado resident and fan of podcasts, I'm weirdly proud of how good this podcast is.

I'm so impressed with the quality of the stories and the production of this podcast. They do thoughtful, insightful takes on stories that seem to have been overlooked elsewhere. "I Is An Other," and "The Beginning of the End of Homelessness" are prime examples. Start there and you'll be hooked.

Check out this show. One of my new favorites. Crafted, engaging stories that highlight local color that transports even for those who live on the other side of the country.

It isn't hard to appreciate how well executed this podcast is. It is well written, produced and scored. The sound design is crisp and the storytelling on point. I only wish it expanded beyond Colorado Springs. Bravo, tip of the hat and Hear, Hear.

Check out their piece on a new CO homeless rehabilitation facility to start off on this phenomenal series.

Black and Brownell present honest and profound stories of the garbled conservative town (city?) of Colorado Springs. While the stories are affective, I am easily distracted by the stylistic production choices. If one finds style as a generative force then one should pay particular attention to...Read full review »

This show is what I love about the forum of public radio. Straightforward and thoughtful reporting that is relevant and educational. I don't live in Colorado Springs but this show has made me much more curious about the various challenges with diversity that the town has. Wonderful show- can't...Read full review »

I get lost in this podcast like someone gets lost in a good book. Smart, engrossing, and impeccable produced. Keep these coming please!

This is a podcast created by two adults that's really worth the time, if, for no other reason, than that it's, you know, Colorado-based culture.

A didactic and overproduced attempt at This American Life-style storytelling. These kids want so badly to impress upon us the complexity of their city's culture. Of course the best way to put Colorado Springs on the map is not to argue stridently for its exceptionalism. We'll believe the city is...Read full review »

A phenomenal podcast. Black and Brownell craft a narrative that totally envelops the listener. Capturing the ordinary absurdity of life in America, they poke and prod at the margins and in doing so provide fresh insight into those questions that are so fundamental to our humanity.
