I am enjoying this podcast and like the little touches that are added. For example, sound effects are added to help bring the stories to life. The only negative thing I can think of is that a lot of the conversations are done over the phone and the quality of the sound is not very good and there...Read full review »

Excellent stories shared by guests. Stephanie is super annoying. Stop trying to sing! Hard to describe your narration. Overly dramatic, horrible. Please, just read your script, remove the exasperation!

The host is a bit “precious.” It’s like she’s trying to feel emotions for us. Just tell the stories. We will have our reactions. You have a great thing here. Keep going . . . trust yourself to tell the story without the emotional delivery.

I am loving your podcast. It’s very interesting to get the behind the scenes stories of some of these people who have touched all of our lives. You should definitely follow up the gene wilder episode with a Richard Pryor one. Nothing would be more fitting than the two of them together.

George Michael’s story is a fascinating one but to say that after the incident in the public toilet in LA that “fans were torn between enjoying his music and whether it was politically correct to enjoy his music” is a ridiculous statement. I believe that true George Michael fans continued to...Read full review »

Thank you very much for this tribute to the greatest Alan Rickman! This inspires me so much and makes me admire the man, even more, if it is even possible! Particular thanks to Juliet Stevenson: thank you very much for sharing all these memories! Kind regards, Stefanie

I love this podcast the way it is. Don’t change a thing, and keep it coming. In times of not much to do. This podcast keeps things interesting.

But the narrator is over the top gushing over of the subjects. It’s very distracting.

I love this podcast so much, and getting to hear about the lives of people I didn’t know about!! But it’s been over a month, is it coming back??

Great podcast but the background music is less that desirable, please think about changing it.

I listened to the Bowie podcast. 30 minutes to resume his whole life seemed a bit short. Dana, the only person interviewed, was not even that close to him. Very disappointing.

Eh.
Unless you know zero about the person she is talking about, you’re not really learning anything new about them. Parts of these episodes felt like the narrator was just reading from their Wiki page. The episodes are only as good as the guest she gets to interview but even then some of what they...Read full review »

These are very interesting stories, but the background music is so jarring-it doesn’t match the subject. Perhaps it’s budget issue.

To the writers of the podcast, I would suggest changing how you refer to suicide. Instead of saying “committed suicide”, use “died by suicide”. Saying “committed suicide” or “took their own life” refers to choice. When someone dies by suicide, they are in no frame of mind to make a choice. Just...Read full review »

I am very happy that you chose Amy Winehouse to start ( it’s horrid what fame - aka other people - did to her) but am a bit concerned that three men - two who are white - have been episodes 2-4. The world has many great women and non-binary folk and many non-whites who don’t get their due...Read full review »

Loved the Roger Moore episode
carlbla via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/11/19
The stories are really interesting. The music they’ve used is inexplicably bad. It’s like jazz from a movie set in the 1930s, with no reason or context.

An astute, insightful, and sagacious view of Muhammad Ali’s life outside of the ring. Exposing himself to the world as the supreme “tough guy” to intimidate his opponents, the public may not have been aware of his sincere humanity. Beautiful narration which draws in the audience with anticipation...Read full review »

A wonderful way to pay tribute to these amazing people. It’s the stories you’ve heard and a few you haven’t from the people that know them best. Highly recommend.

When we think of our heroes, we sometimes forget they were humans too. ALL doesn’t: highs and lows, epic masterstrokes and amusing minutiae, all the things that go to make an artist like Amy who she was. Looking forward to the Carrie Fisher episode.
