A Short Review of
I've listened to more than a few History Podcasts, and those I return to most often are 'The History Of Rome' (Mike Duncan) and History According To Bob (Bob Packett). These guys have a wealth of experience between them. I mean, 'Rome' is up to over 150 episodes, and 'Bob' has well over a thousand podcasts under his belt. These two rattle off episodes with a smoothness born of long experience. So now I've found 'A Short History Of Japan'. Another high quality podcast where the author has bucketloads of experience. I'm sorry! What do you mean, 'it's his first ever podcast'? So where are the editing pops and poor music cut-outs? Where is the background noise of the cat demanding dinner, and the wife demanding he shuts up? Where are the long pauses and 'Umms' and 'Ahhh's'? The episodes are entertaining, informative, easilly digestible, and Mr Cameron has an easy-going style that makes him an absolute pleasure to listen to. Each episode has been engaging, and I will look forward to the next one. Thereby hangs the only criticism. Episodes are not released on a regular basis, and seem to come in brief but intese spurts, followed by long periods of inactivity. This is what ruined Lars Brownworth's podcast on The Normans, with so far only one episode this year, and I hope that 'Japan' will not go the same way. Still, that aside, I hearytily recommend you have a listen to this and see for yourself. I'm frankly astounded that this is his first attempt! I hope he is enjoying the experience, because I will be campaigning for the removal of the word 'Short' from thre podcasts title.

This is a wonderful pod cast. It is informative and entertaining. I know I will listen to them over and over. I hope you will also consider including in future episodes some info on the development of Noh, Kabuki, nihon buyo and butoh. Great job so far, I am looking forward to future episodes.

Loving these podcasts mate! Any chance of putting up earlier episodes? I can't see the podcasts earlier than number 12.
