Outstanding Podcast
I must say I have throroughly enjoyed Cameron Foster's History of Japan. I find the teaching style very refreshing and entertaining as well as highly informative. His narrative makes the trip through Japanese history interative and compelling, often pointing out links to go to and physical places one ought to visit. When you hear the term "History" it already conjures up images of boring classrooms with monotone teachers rambling dates, names and places, however Cameron is not like that. While his lectures are by no means missing the names, dates and places, this History lesson keeps your attention as Cameron does not lose the drama/mystery/intrique of these historical events. I remember Cameron saying he was a teacher, I am not sure exactly what he teaches but I would love to sit in on his class, trust me this is one podcast to subscribe to. You WILL be looking forward to every installment, I can promise you that.

This is a wonderful pod cast. It is informative and entertaining. I know I will listen to them over and over. I hope you will also consider including in future episodes some info on the development of Noh, Kabuki, nihon buyo and butoh. Great job so far, I am looking forward to future episodes.

This podcast provides a great general history of Japan that is easy to follow, listen to, and entertaining to boot. It skips over a lot of the tedious details but presents a very good overview.
