The U of M's Engineers Without Borders won a $25,000 grand prize from Keen Footwear to develop recycling and sanitation programs in Haiti.

University of Minnesota Regents Professor Emeritus Leonid Hurwicz, along with two other Americans, is awarded the Nobel Prize in economics Oct 15, 2007 at Ted Mann Hall for theories that help set rules for transactions ranging from auctions to elections.

There will be 10 Active Learning Classrooms in the new Science Teaching and Student Services Building.
