It’s easy to get a 6.5 in IELTS writing, in my opinion...But it’s MUCH harder to get a 7.  In order to help my students get a 7, I work on a lot of little extra tips.  Little nuances to add. Better ways to introduce and sequence their arguments.  One thing I do is add development and depth of thought through using these two grammar tricks.

When it comes to getting a 7 band score in IELTS writing, most people think that just writing an essay is enough. But it’s much better if you develop it further by adding depth to your ideas. Showing relationships between ideas. Connecting ideas. One way you can do this is with cause and effect connectors.
