Best sci-fi podcast where the host is speaking from a horse. Slightly disappointed with how few lines the horse has though.

I was afraid this podcast had been canceled as Andrew focused on the political orphanage. I had all but given up hope, and then low and behold one day, 8 months later, I had a new episode in my que and I couldn't contain my excitement! Andrew and crew have brought hours and hours of great...Read full review »

I enjoy this rarely alien👽ating podcast very much. When doing outdoor work then I often listen👂🏻to this podcast. I've only been uncomfortable with listen👂🏻ing to one episode so far, and even then I still liked that episode. Thank you Andrew Heaton for publishing this podcast.Read full review »

If you want to move beyond *just* popular sci-fi, this podcast will give you the introduction you need to explore the broad expanse of the genre. It’s fabulous.

This is a really enjoyable podcast with fun discussions about a variety of sci-fi topics. There’s a good mix of humour, philosophy, and analysis.

Thank you, great episodes with awesome guests. Great B5 reference. Love that show.

While most sci-fi podcasts discuss the genera’s books and movies, ATA goes beyond that and explores the underlying science and social concepts. Smarter and funnier than anything else out there.

...is just the kind of weak pun that I will never expect to hear on this podcast. I immediately fell in love with this show, for the light-hearted yet serious and sophisticated tone that it manages to strike. Also noteworthy that a lot of podcasts feature a post-guest segment as the host and...Read full review »

I’m a fan of Mighty Heaton from the Twitter wars and when I saw he devoted a talk to Steel Beech and Varley’s exceptional work that was the intellectual equivalent to free tacos. I’ll be back

This is one of my favorite podcasts. It's a perfect intersection of speculative fiction and philosophy, with a little bit of politics thrown in now and then. I have to skip episodes here and there to avoid spoilers, but it's also piqued my interest in scifi media I hadn't been...Read full review »

Andrew Heaton's science Fiction analysis -- political, economic, philosophical, historical -- makes your neurons flash like a drugged up Christmas tree, which is a good thing. I have to say, that I never listen to talk radio. I don't listen to pod casts, but I stumbled over Andrew...Read full review »

I’m in the middle of the Stargate episode and I love these people. If I could spend an evening hanging with this group my life would be amazing. The best part is, I’ve had that thought in separate episodes too! Thank you, Andrew, for being awesome at this. (And at the Political Orphanage)

Don't want to stereotype but Spock-like listeners would love this podcast because it’s clever and they have interesting topics like what a ship might be comprised of if setting off to colonize a new planet. What I enjoy is that instead of simple conjecture, Andrew Heaton comes armed with...Read full review »

I was disappointed when AH appeared on Kibbe "Blaze TV" and stated his show was ending on same as I was going to listen to it. The Political Orphanage is a delightful show, but this is the Heaton Podcast with staying power. Just as The Simpsons flowed from the Tracey Ullman Show, so too Alienating the Audience comes from The Political Orphanage: Your dentist recommends Viceroys. I was already a big fan of Alienating the Audience when it was just a periodic segment of his other show, but as it’s own podcast it really shines as a delightfully nerdy weekly escape from the drudgery of normal life. Andrew clearly loves the genre, and his guests are top notch.

I always loved the alienating the audience episodes but now all in a weekly podcast ! Great host, great topics and guests. The only comparison I can come up with is if you bought a box of lucky charms, opened it, and found .... ONLY LITTLE MARSHMALLOW SHAPES!! Yes. It is that good folks

As an avid sci-fi fan, I always listen to alienating the audience on my way to cash my weekly Glen Kevin distillery paycheck at people’s underwater bank. Andrew excels at diving into the deeper meanings of our favorite genres, and not taking it to seriously.

Since subscribing to this podcast I’ve woken each day to Andrew Heaton trying to serve me scotch. Failed toaster insurance salesman and shill for the multi-purpose farm equipment lobby Andrew Heaton tries his hand again at pod-based discourse. He’s wrong about which episode of DS9 is the best and has a hard time with names from Dune. 8/10.
