“I have been a long-time podcast listener, so i know very well how difficult it is to find the good stuff, and how important it is not to waste time listening to the bad stuff. When i heard of the “Pod on Pod” podcast from Josh & Chuck at “Stuff You Should Know”, i was intrigued.
As it turned out, we shared a philosophy — to listen to at least three episodes before passing judgement. I downloaded five episodes the other day: the most recent episode reviewing a podcast i had never heard of before (“Modern Day Philosophers”), two episodes reviewing podcasts i love (“SYSK” and “WTF”), one episode reviewing a podcast i’ve subscribed to, turned away from, and returned to (“Doug Loves Movies”), and an episode reviewing a podcast i’ve never listened to despite its high ranking on iTunes (“The Joe Rogan Experience”).
And i found that PoP speaks wisely, and speaks to me. They love what i love, they share my frustrations with “Doug Loves Movies” … and i know that i can trust their criticism of “The Joe Rogan Experience”.
I have subscribed to “Pod on Pod” and i look forward to discovering more great podcasts through their hard work!
One thing though: what’s with the “musical guest”? Seriously? What is it doing there? I skip it every time. That’s not what i’m there for. That’s time that could be better spent listening to Marc Maron’s monologue! (Seriously, folks, Maron’s personal babble-ogue at the beginning of each episode is the reason you will love him. Don’t skip it!)”
