Simon and Rachel are a brilliant interview duo and always ask the interesting and sometimes tough questions. It means you get to hear a different side to some really famous authors. Full of advice you can use in your own writing practice.

Am making my way through the back catalogue and am learning a lot. The interviews are great. Only downsides are that I had to turn one of them off because the person was SO negative about the world of writing I started to feel a bit depressed about ever getting published, and most people are so...Read full review »

A brilliant idea & fantastic guests. However, the hosts butting in with their own anecdotes is beyond frustrating. They could do their own episodes instead of trying to hijack interviews with their experiences. Happens every episode

By a long way my favorite podcast around. Charismatic hosts, thoughtful questions, fascinating interviewees, invaluable insight into the industry. Would love to see more interviews with freelance journalists and magazine writers (as opposed to in-house) as well as magazine/newspaper editors. I...Read full review »

A friend and fellow writer recommended a specific episode of “Always Take Notes”, and after just one I proceeded to binge the rest. There’s a certain charm to the roughness of the early shows, and always there is something to learn or a new perspective to be had, whether from writers, reporters,...Read full review »

I have listened to every single episode of Always Take Notes and I absolutely love it. The hosts talk about subjects that are not usually explored by other podcasts out there such as MONEY. The questions and guests invited are well thought out and caters for a wide array of writers.

Love the show, always great guests and questions. Selves into the personal histories, careers and advice really well and the range of guests is what I like to. The only thing is the sound quality, sometimes it is really poor and I find myself turning the volume up full whack to hear the guest,...Read full review »

This podcast is fantastic. It delves deep into the world of writing - of whatever sort - and picks it apart with rigour and humour. It’s not a whimsical and insubstantial rhapsody over the writer’s ‘craft’, rather a concrete conversation about the processes by which words actually get put down on...Read full review »

A great idea, great guests and I like the candidness of it. Sometimes the interviewees are quite difficult and the presenters don’t always succeed in recording a great podcast but maybe that’s just me and my high expectations..!
