As a member of law enforcement I had never heard of this story. It is heartbreaking and look forward to one day hearing a positive resolution to this crime. Thanks for covering this story CBC.

I enjoyed the podcast very much. Thank you.

Overall case details weren’t that complicated, and the content didn’t justify the number of episodes. Mediocre and overly drawn out. Also disappointing that they didn’t do more pushing/investigation to actually move the case forward.

CBC does outstanding podcasts and this is another well written and produced product. Whenever I want to spend time and be totally engrossed and engaged in a story I am able to turn to CBC and find exactly what I am looking for. Thank you for a great listening experience.

Pretty weak podcast. Nothing was revealed that was already know and no in-depth investigative work was done. I think this podcast was made just for the sake of making a podcast with minimal effort.

It’s good storytelling about a sad circumstance. I really liked they way the writers brought “place” into the story. When they explain how windy it can be and the terrain, the rural setting, it really adds to the understanding of why this took so long to resolve.

I was interested in the story but after the first episode the interviews were replayed multiple times. I stopped in the 3rd episode because nothing new was being said.

This is a non lascivious recounting of an incident that has been unresolved, and deserves this attention. The critical reviews, quite frankly, are childish. It is not the job of the creators and production staff to solve this case and give a signed sealed ending. Grow up!

….however the sound engineering is not up to par. The sound levels throughout are uneven and I found myself constantly adjusting the volume to be able to understand.

I thought the whole point of this podcast was to reveal the truth. Instead it’s basically a bunch of interviews with people who knew the victims. The man who obviously did the murders who was stalking the womanVictim gets off the hook because his friend say he could’ve never done that. Overall I...Read full review »

Great podcast! I’ve noticed the same thing with a few CBC podcasts - besides being interesting and entertaining. It’s that when a someone were to start from episode 1, they need to physically select the next episode. Is there a way to list them so that the following episode plays naturally once...Read full review »

am intriguing series I wish there were more episodes and more investigative aspects more than a retelling and interviews but overall not a bad true crime doc

Short and fairly basic treatment of the public face of this cold case, hamstrung by the reticence of local police and those involved. Commercial production values and to-the-point pacing make it worthwhile.

A good investigative podcast. I’m wondering what was filtered out as the episodes seem short for 4 months worth of work. I’m also wondering why some relatives never spoke to the reporters.

You learn in the first episode that two people were shot and killed. Every episode after that the narrator speaks with everyone under the sun, goes down the typical rabbit holes only to come up empty handed save for the cliffhanger moment... that she’ll tell you about on the next episode. The...Read full review »

Overall I liked the podcast, although the journalist doing the interviews, her tone was very annoying. In one episode where she kept replying “yup, yup, yup” I couldn’t stand it I had to forward it.

I’m used to better reporting by the CBC and this was very lack lustre. The story wasn’t good. The reporting wasn’t good. Love the CBC just they could and have done better

No new leads, no new investigation, prime suspect won’t talk, and with just 6 episodes of about 20 minutes each. This could really need more work or shouldn’t have been released.

I decided to start listen to this because Pete was a family member to a close friend of him. Still to this day her family mourns the lose of him.

How was there no DNA evidence with two bodies dragged to a trailer? I realize the winds were extreme, but can wind blown away blood and fingerprints!?
MartineSesma via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/01/19
The pacing is measured and mature, with a great deal of respect paid to the victims and those who loved them. Each episode is 20 minutes or less. This isn’t for people who prefer sugar-rush crime shows that movie at the breakneck pace of a Jason Bourne film... this is a story about two real...Read full review »

This is soooo dull and 43 minutes passed. At 43 minutes it's announced, out of the blue and without reasoning. They determined the was NO EVIDENCE. Waht??? How did that happen. So they just move on now to motive. So I wrote this review and didn't submit it. Now I'm editing to...Read full review »

The CBC does this sort of thing very well. This is one of the better examples of that. Thorough, lacking in forced drama or over emotionalism. Very much a measured, professional effort. The episodes are too short for my taste, but that is better than others who drag things out unnecessarily. ...Read full review »

Meh
Nowhere near as intriguing as SKS was. Just didn’t have the same storytelling value for me. And I didn’t really learn anything from it.

This is a good podcast and I enjoy listening, the episodes are short though! Things finally get cooking and then it’s over.

Story could have been told in one episode instead of 6 very short ones. Good delivery, good sound quality but very anticlimactic.

I'm three episodes in so far and find it very good. Great bite sized episodes full of quality interviews. I love the local feel of southern Alberta. This podcast has a hint of stylings from other programs like Serial or S-town. If you enjoy that style then this a great program for you.Read full review »
