It could be a lot better
Have been disappointed. I find American podcasts to be so shallow compared to British pods on similar topics. There’s no real analysis with American History Hit, no numbers- but a lot of shameless patriotism and myth perpetuating. Maybe it’s subtler then Fox and not stupidly right-wing, but for example in the Oregon Trail episode, plenty of blather about what a wonderful indicator of the expansion of this great liberty of ours, ah the pioneers of democracy. Maybe the guest didn’t have much to offer, but for the Oregon Trail show, the host barely let go of the mic. Sorry but few of these episodes have much to offer in the way of insight or narrative.
