Listening to Freddy Gray is a spiritual challenge
Virtually all Spectator podcasters have earned my respect and even affection. Even knowing or guessing their personal political preferences, I still find them thorough, professional and balanced. Their delivery is exemplary. Unfortunately I can’t say the same of Freddy Gray. With the exception of some guests such as Jacob Heilbrunn, Mr Gray’s interlocutors tend to be conservative contrarians with whom he can nod along and smugly add “and of course …”. I listen to Americano regularly to get different perspectives from the guests, while doing my best to disregard Mr Gray’s snide comments, sneering tone and ponderous delivery.
