Quality — interviews with experts, not amateurs
There’s a tsunami of amateur history podcasts — some good, some not so much. What’s terrific about this is that it’s interviews with serious academics, not just a rehash of a few textbooks. Production quality is also very good — thumbs up for audio quality and interviewing facility. A well spoken well prepared interviewer talking to authorities who you can hear clearly— that’s a good podcast

I wholeheartedly recommend this podcast if you are curious about the ancient world. A great range of topics, explored with the world’s leading academics in the field - really fascinating discussions which are accessible but not in the slightest bit patronising...

I was looking for a show about Greek mythology. I came across this show. And I’ve just been listening to it ever since then. I even have some thoughts on reading the republic! I loved how the host develops his arguments effectively. He is a professional. I hope this show just goes on forever.

Ancient greek history has always been fascinating, but Dr. lantern Jack really puts such a great spin on the narration and storytelling. Compelling, entertaining, and incredibly insightful.
