Really enjoying this podcast. He takes on a variety of topics that don’t see much light and conveys the information with humor and insight. It’s well-researched and perfect for binging. (His rapid-fire delivery in the first few episodes soon moderates, so dont let that put you off).

I’ve been a fan for around 4 years now, and I love all the great stories on every episode! I should have written this years ago! From bees to Saturnalia and other ancient festivals in Greece and Rome I adore all the fascinating details from the ancient world.

Well researched and fascinating podcast. Everything from big sweeps of classical history to the small things of every day life in antiquity. Not saturated with advertising or premium tiers, but an author who is passionate about his favorite subject and wants to share.

This is a great podcast full of interesting facts and tidbits of ancient history and mythology! Would definitely recommend as a listen for anyone who’s finished podcast like The History of Rome by Mike Duncan or The History of Ancient Greece by Ryan Stitt!

Excellent content. It is always nice to have another option for those who have an interest in ancient history. The presentation would improve if the Podcaster provided less attempted witticisms, some of which are cringe worthy. The material presented is interesting enough on its own behalf.

Like ancient history? Like entertaining presentations of ancient history? So do I. This podcast provides it.

Ancient History Hound is eminently entertaining and informative. His tone and topics are more akin with erudite bedtime stories for adults rather than the all to often listing of occurances of well worn over typical stories that one may encounter.

Really enjoyed listening to the episode about witches! The length of episodes are great for a morning commute, super great to learn about myths that I’m not aware of, and he paces it really well. Keep it up! :):) Ken (By The Fire Podcast)

I can't recommed this podcast enough. Neil, the host, has a way of finding interesting little bits of history you quite possibly have never heard of, and makes them very accesible. An amazing look at the underserved areas of ancient life. Neil (and Emma) is a fantastic storyteller and his slang is hysterical. If you listen from pod 1 the style changes over time. But the first couple of pods are unlike anything you have ever heard. Great stuff.

I have been listening to this podcast for a while and I’m so glad I stuck around. The wealth of information the host talks about is staggering! Truly is a little gem of a podcast!

Great topics but the gentleman is talking too fast when recounting events. I know Greek history pretty well but, when listening to the Sicilian expedition episode, it was difficult to follow the rapid-fire narrative. A slower, more conversational style, would make this poddie a winner.

Uniquely interesting, entertaining & insightful. My only question is: why does this podcast only have 8 ratings (as of today) and only one review? Even if it were half as good as it is, unreasonably far fewer posts than expected. Perhaps there’s a glitch? Worth looking into imo.
