Fabulous, funny and feminist
Laura and Brittany are great hosts who really take the time to look at Angel from so many angles, and because they are so knowledgeable, they give you a fresh and interesting perspective, often from a viewpoint I hadn’t previously considered. They take the time to deal with the problematic aspects that inevitably come from a show made nearly twenty years ago, but without tearing it to shreds. I’m always interested to hear their thoughts, especially when they discuss magick as presented on the show, as well as their lived experience. They make me laugh and smile every episode, and I really like the crossover episodes they share with their sister podcast, Buffering The Vampire Slayer. The guests they’ve had so far have been excellent, and I really enjoy the poem at the end of each episode. Great podcast, y’all!!!

Meh
I find that they do more of a description of the episode than any analysis or exploration of themes. I had high hopes because of Buffering, hopefully these two can find their stride and get better.

Love this podcast and that it’s a companion to Buffering. My only critique is that it’s hard to hear Laura’s voice and it seems much quieter than Brittany’s. I have to turn it up to hear Laura and down when Brittany talks. Thank you!

Brittany and Laura offer an honest, funny, dead pan look at this nostaligic show. Not as silly and light as its sister podcast Buffering but neither is the show Angel itself. I'm looking forward to them getting further into their own rhythm and style.Read full review »
