Charlie's Wish Animal Rescue was established to honor Laura's first pit bull, Charlie, who was badly abused by his owner. He was later dumped by the person and tied outside without food and water. Scarlet Oak Farms was founded in 2018 by a couple of animal advocates in Ayden, North Carolina after learning the harsh realities of shelter adoptions and that their area was inundated with stray and relinquished animals. Hope Fur Paws Rescue is a new 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue. In their first year, they have adopted out over 60 dogs and 30 cats. They rely on donations to get everyone spayed, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treat any ailments, and put these furbabies on heartworm prevention.
