Jeff and Rebecca (of Book Riot Podcast) bring their exceptional on-mic chemistry to their newest project: a deep dive into the context and recent hype surrounding George Orwell's 1984. This novel has embedded itself in our culture as a vision of a nightmarish future that always seems just around the corner. Even if you have never read 1984, you probably know what it means for something to be "Orwellian" or you're familiar with the invasive "Big Brother" concept. The first season of Annotated goes beyond the text on the page and looks at the context that surrounds the politics and themes of the novel. The first episode was a fascinating and insightful into and fits perfectly into my morning commute. I am thrilled to follow along to see what future episodes bring.Read full review »
