My entry point to Apology was the episode with Rachel Kushner, and since then I’ve listen to so many episodes. Jesse Pearson has a soothing voice. It is great to hear about so many inspiring artists and their relationships to books and non-books. Everyone from guitarist Matt Sweeney to Andre...Read full review »

I’ve listened to every episode of this show multiple times since I discovered it a little over a year ago. I wish there were 10,000 episodes. Each interview is an unique look into the lives of interesting people whom already have singular insight when it comes to art or music or movies. The...Read full review »

A well-read host who actually listens to his guests. A solid half-read, half haven’t collection of guests and references. A calming feeling of respectful intellect.

I think I end up reading at least one book as result of each episode.

i started with AS hamrah's episode and then did rachel kushner's and then did all the rest, but way too quickly. this is a podcast that one should savor. it's just cool people talking about books and then talking about life. it's almost precisely the sort of thing i've been...Read full review »

I’ve been introduced to so many artists I would not have otherwise discovered via this podcast, and the guests I did have knowledge of, I had never heard them interviewed before, or at least interviewed with so much depth, interest, honesty and frankness. My favorite interview podcast.

I really liked the Apology podcast episode with New Yorker writer Naomi Fry, who loves to read, in which she walks you through her fave books, current reads (a dusty copy of Money by Martin Amis that she picked up at a thriftstore) and background in literature. More of this, I say!

For anyone who enjoys reading, music, film, friendship, holy relics, human emotions - this is the right podcast.

I had the thought the other day that I would like to send Jesse Pearson a thank you card specifically for this podcast, so since I don’t have his address, I figured I’d write a review. I’ve listened to every single one of these episodes, many multiple times, and they continue to get better and...Read full review »

This is an enjoyable, mellow podcast for book lovers. It’s nice that Pearson includes song writers here, although two of my favorite (Callahan and Oldham) seem to have never read a book by a woman, and that made these particular podcasts come off as kind of Bro. I was dreading the Ian McKaye...Read full review »

I devour these. It’s become of my favourite ways to nerd out and—Inevitably—my to-read list gains weight with every listen.

I love this concept of asking someone what they are reading or have read, taking the direct focus off of the subject. Ultimately, the conversation will reveal to people a deeper layer of the guest. We get to hear their reaction to a book, which leads to fantastic stories about their life and...Read full review »

i discovered Apology podcast when David Pajo posted about it on instagram and it's really brightened my life, introducing me to new authors and learning about the biographies of my favorite musicians through their reading history. Love this show and the magazine too. Great guests so far. Interviews are illuminating and have turned me on to several books I’ve really liked. Recently enjoyed William Craddock “Be Not Content” which I learned about from the Stephen Malkmus episode. Highly recommend this podcast!

Apology is a great podcast that is based around literary discussions with an almost esoteric group of musicians, writers, a pro skateboarder, and even a psychiatrist. Jesse Pearson is a great host who has the gift of being able to maintain interesting conversation. Even when I am not familiar...Read full review »

I love this podcast. I tell friends it's about reading, not writing. It's about what people are reading, what people like, what people read when they're young. It's not writers promoting their books, though some of the guests are writers. And Jesse's a great interviewer, easy,...Read full review »

Apology consists of conversations with interesting people. That being true of most podcasts, Apology is different in that host Jesse Pearson focuses the conversations around the books that guests have read or are reading. Not only does this provide insight into how these interesting people...Read full review »
