I’ve had some very difficult events in my life due to bereavement, and I now realised my experiences have lead to depression, anxiety and even loneliness. Listening to these pods have really helped me. They feel like they come from a place of honesty.

I’m studying to be a counsellor and I have found myself going to these episodes first when I need to know more about a subject such as Bipolar, ADHD and Depression. They help me understand how people are affected by these conditions in a relatable way. There are also subjects that I am affected...Read full review »

I was searching for a podcast on a mental health condition and I am so glad I came across Are You Mental? It is really well produced and interesting to hear from a variety of perspectives and experiences on each topic. This has helped me and I highly recommend you give it a listen.

I came across you through Lee who I follow on Instagram. I saw his Instagram post about your podcast on Narcissism. Everything said in this episode describes what I have dealing with the only difference is that I’m not married. I’m on the receiving end of the narcissism. I sent the podcast to...Read full review »

6 months ago I felt stuck. I had no idea why. Online is the first thing people do nowadays. I no longer live with a clock. I have the time to surf online all day if I want to. Podcasts is the thing. The podcasts from Mick are different. I am a Dutch kiwi with Indonesian flavours so clear...Read full review »

Mick is a fantastic interviewer bringing warmth and insightful questioning to each episode. Those he interviews are articulate and relaxed and the conversations are interlaced with humour. And we love Netty the psychologist, so thoughtful and clear. Despite being well informed before finding this...Read full review »

Stumbled across this podcast and it feels like certain episodes were made just for me. As another reviewer has said, I’ve never heard or read a better description of what depression is actually like. Thank you for making it and for your sensitive, thorough and comforting approach to a very...Read full review »

The episode on depression is the most articulate description I have ever heard. You and your guests got inside my brain and described it painfully perfectly. Thank you all for giving me the permission to have a bit of a breakdown.

Struggling with depression and anxiety myself at the moment. Listening to podcasts on these afflictions makes me feel less alone with the struggle. I’ve listened to most of them and I reckon this one is the best. Great format- 2 lived experiences + psychologist (and she sounds like a really...Read full review »

I related to Chloe 100%; it was such a relief to hear I wasn’t alone in this. The best information I’ve received about schizophrenia (or schizo-effective) that I’ve found.

Beautifully honest conversations born out of curiosity by the interviewer around mental health, balanced between respectful and casual talks with people who do/have struggled with mental illness, and the professional input of a psychologist. Really enjoying this!

This is great! Cool to see this presented with a healthy dose of humour. Loved the stuff about the brain during anxiety. Made it really easy to understand.
