Completing my education!
Art history is an embarrassing hole in my education. I've been to museums all over the world--love art, love museums, love history and architecture, etc. I was never given the opportunity to take an art history or art appreciation class, so I can only imagine how many people know far less because they're not able to visit museums or they've grown up thinking museums are too stuffy. Art IS for everybody and it should be accessible. That's exactly what Allyson does--makes it all accessible. AND interesting. I started with the very first episode, even though the Mona Lisa is just kind of "yeah, yeah, okay" for me. (I've even seen her in person, but she's just never really captured my imagination as other works have.) HOWEVER, Alllyson made it so interesting, and I did learn a few facts I hadn't know. She's very engaging and each subject is well-researched. I can't wait to learn about works of art I may not have even heard about!Read full review »
