thoughtful and insightful and fun
Long-time fans of the show are rewatching from the beginning, handling 3 eps of Avatar: the Last Airbender per cast. There is a brief update on the lives of the hosts (entertaining, and terrifically Canadian), followed by feedback/email. Then the hosts play a quote/clip from the episode about to be discussed, a recap of said episode, and an in-depth analysis. At the end, the hosts each rate each episode. (Multi-part eps are handled slightly differently.) The analysis is thoughtful, and the hosts have watched and rewatched the show many times, in addition to often having read more about the show or listened to commentaries. Further, they all seem to have a background in watching anime and general pop-culture, which leads to some great insights. There is some basic discussion of shipping (Kataang, Zutara), but it's kept to a minimum (except when they respond to the occasional Zutara hate mail). The hosts recently cut the recaps drastically, which I find I miss a little bit, but on the other hand, I'd rather hear them analyze the show than recap. But I wouldn't mind both, or a happy medium. Listening to them argue about scores, character relationships, and quote the show is a lot of fun, and I like the brief audio clips from the show interspersed throughout.

I think this is a great idea, I mean it's a little weird cuz you're all grown adults (I think) and you're reviewing what's basically a 'cartoon' but heck. 5 stars guys.
