William Maxwell, So Long, See You Tomorrow
Just listened to the re-run of this. In fact, I listened to it twice. It’s a superb example of why Backlisted is such a wonderful podcast. It provides a thrillingly good account of the power books have to enthral and move us. Exquisite. Right up there with the episode on Dermot Healy. And a reminder that Maxwell, whose books I first read in my early 20s when Harvill first reissued them, is a writer to whom I must return as I close in on my 50s.

I'm a fan of book related podcasts and found The Backlisted Podcast quite by chance; I really enjoy it - interesting, passionate conversations about books and reading. I don't know very much about the hosts, but the whole thing is really quite charming and entertaining.Read full review »
