At 49 this show brought me back to my teens realizing this rock thing IS true, Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil and Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet. Still loving metal and it’s tails of wich this show does a very good job. Thanks!

Growing up a metalhead in the DC area and loving heavy music starting at age 7, a drummer in a local beach rock band myself, the stories this podcast captures bring so many great memories and relatable moments back! This cast is so well scripted and narrated and I can’t wait for more!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I enjoy this podcast and the host. It’s a different and interesting subject matter that I have never heard before on a podcast. I grew up listening to all kinds of metal from mild to extreme. It’s interesting to get the band members viewpoints on things. Even though I like metal I’ve never been...Read full review »

I’ve read the book, but it’s also great to hear in person interviews with the legends. Also, getting Clem Fandango to work on this podcast is brilliant. “Can you you hear me Steven?”

I grew up in the 80’s saw Judas Priest, Ozzy and Iron Maiden just to name a few and of course I was in a band playing and singing their music. After one of the members of my band and his girlfriend became a born-again Christian, I was curious. I went to a concern and gave my life to Jesus Christ...Read full review »

Is very enjoyable. I’m a former 20 year broadcaster. It’s fun to learn even MORE tidbits that I had never known. Keep ‘em coming!

This must be one of the most in-depth reports into the origins, influences and meaning of early metal. As a long term Priest and Sabbath fan I am surprised at how much I have learned from this intriguing podcast.

Research, interviews and delivery are all high quality. For all the stories of excess and outlandish behavior recounted in this series, their conveyance is made in steady form. Its not all sex, drugs and rock n roll. There are many figures in this genre, now legendary, that came from troubled...Read full review »

I Want to like this, but it’s just the same old stories about the same old bands, that have been told time and time again.

I enjoy the content but most of the time it is just the host pumping his chest. Maybe stop using it to promote yourself. If I want to look up what you have written. I don’t need it to be force fed to me. Again the idea is great I’m an 80’s kid and it’s cool to hear most of the content but...Read full review »

History buffs and skeptics alike will find this content interesting. The podcaster develops his ideas and substantiates his evidence from within the musical composition and the social context at the time.Inferring a darker side to basic human fears of the “unknown”. The social and psychological...Read full review »

Give this dude a chance! He’s a great writer with some good books under his name, and he is very well researched. Anyway, the SABBATH episode is killer!!! And features some great interviews from our Metal brethren. HAILZ 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

After listing for only about 10 minutes I was hooked!! Great podcast, great to listen to and goes to show how looks can be deceiving.....

The iHeart adds are quite annoying. They take like half the content space. This could’ve been only one episode if the material was joined all together. A bit disappointed. But, the host, guest and subject matter was quite interesting.

Very interesting podcast but Venom were from Newcastle not Nottingham as mentioned in episode 2.

This is about rock, put some energy into it! He says a lot of words without really getting to a point. Because of the very slow talking I had to listed at a faster speed. Took over 8 minutes of I don’t know what before the show started. Unnecessary long silent pauses and silly sound effects. I...Read full review »
