Lackadaisical history
I love the idea of this podcasts, but the three or four professors that share their knowledge about the topic are content to skim the superficial surface. Probing and interesting questions from listeners are sometimes brushed off with easy answers, as if they really hadn't thought of the question before. They rely on general knowledge of the field instead of taking the trouble to do some in-depth research before they present the topic -- hope they aren't like this in class. I've been enjoying this show for a while, I'm glad they've started doing weekly (instead of monthly) shows. Listening to it gives me a feeling of context and the ability to talk intelligently about the story behind current events. Great show.Read full review »

The podcasters obviously know their history; however, some of them usually find a way to put their right leaning politics in the discussions.
