Bethany McLean
I’m really turned off by the fact neither journalist mentioned Bethany McLean or her piece “Is Enron Overpriced?” which is often considered to have first cracked open the case. By omitting this, the journalists, who to their credit are talented/accomplished themselves, come across as self-congratulatory and depicting themselves as the first/only journalists to “get the scoop.” It’s a big story, there’s more than enough room to share the spotlight. I otherwise live for podcasts like this - I love white collar crime stories, particularly of the fraud variety. I’m giving three stars as the rest of the podcast is well-presented, but that unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth.

More reviews of Bad Bets
Bad Bets has just become my favorite podcast. WSJ investigative reporting in a podcast format is the best combination.

I was very young around the collapse of Enron, but I believe that this story needs to be told. Especially, with the “fake it until you make it” culture at tech companies.
