You know this is a great podcast when the research team uncovers/reveals things to those that did the investigation that they didn’t know. It was put together in a fantastic way and the progression of each episode was perfect. Thank you for an interesting history lesson, making days of driving go...

Rachel Maddow’s back at it again with excellent story telling and thought-provoking content. She is incredibly clever and does everything for a reason which leaves me wondering- why is she telling this story now? 🤔😮😋

An exemplary and fascinating example of ignored history that we are now doomingly repeating.

I have enjoyed listening to her news show but this podcasts puts her skills as a natural story teller to task and she delivers.

Thank goodness for Rachel Maddow, my wife and I can actually follow what is really going on in the world of politics and I’ve been waiting my whole life(53) years to kind of sort out what happened with Watergate and the Spiro Agnew situation. It is spelled out extremely well in bagman! I’m not...

Rachel does an excellent job of making this particular part of American history captivating. As usual, Rachel takes a complex story and organizes it beautifully taking time to explain and weave in all of her adjunct material. Rachel excels at the art educating, taking the opportunity the...

As always your research and reporting is impeccable but Agnew’s rise to power is part of our family history and I would quibble with one of your comments. You stated that ‘My kind of man...’ was critical to his election, but what won his gubernatorial election for him was his Democratic opponent,...

I thought I knew the story behind Spiro Agnew's resignation but this podcast showed me what I didn't know. In their research, Madow and company discovered so much more including things not even the prosecuters were aware of. Given today's White House intrigues, this is essential listening;...

Listened to the first episode of this mini series podcast while at work and it was very interesting. I wondered the other day whom the VP for nixon was and this sure hooked me!

I lived through Watergate and Agnews resignation, but never knew the details and back story. Really believed this podcast was going to be about Nixon. Great history lesson.

I rarely binge-watch or listen but this series had me hooked from beginning to end! The research is outstanding, including primary-source archive work that unearthed documents historians weren’t aware of. The interviews are riveting and the whole story couldn’t be more timely. As Maddow says,...

Love your work, Rachel. Keep it up.

Excellent and very relevant history lesson. Felt like it was padded out a bit with repetition and recap; easily could have been a solid 4-5 episode story instead of 7 short and somewhat loose episodes. Still, I appreciate the research, reporting and relevance. Keep it up.

This is a must listen to podcast! Great job Rachel! Also a great addition to the Slow Burn podcast about Nixon.

Love the way she draws up all the related details. I remember this time but knew very little about these events... was too caught up in Watergate (and nursing school) to focus on the whole Agnew saga. Hope she will create another podcast about Watergate. I hung on it’s every word!! I felt I...

History was not a subject that I was terribly interested in until I became much older, therefore I really only retained enough in school to pass those classes. If podcasts were around then and Rachel were the one basically laying it out so smoothly as she always does,I would have been an A...

Maddow’s deep and thorough profile of Spiro Agnew not only sheds new light on a corrupt period in American politics but also serves as a prescient story, a relatable framework, for this current political landscape in 2019. The parallels are many and at times are haunting. Well done Rachel and...

The story is fascinating and Maddow is a great broadcaster but the writing is repetitive and redundant. 😉 Would have been really compelling as three episodes, instead I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

I didn’t know this part of history! I remember as a child Nixon leaving the White House but nothing about the VP story. This is fabulous storytelling! If there wasn’t a movie made, then make one of Bag Man!

The parallels between the Nixon Whitehouse and the Trump Whitehouse is mind boggling. I was too young to know anything about Nixon’s time in the Whitehouse. It seems that Agnew’s playbook is being used by the current administration.

We need more podcasts like this. It is important to have this historical perspective and helping us understand what we see today right before our very eyes. We need to be thoughtful about how seemingly easy it is to choose the wrong path and to coerce, seduce, or tantalize others to follow. Thank...

I was 18 in 1973. I was a typical 18-year-old girl, boy crazy, slightly insecure, and not at all sure what I expected or wanted from the future. Luckily for me I had a father who always encouraged me to use my brain. He told me honestly what he felt about politics, and it was really kind, but it...

I've never left a review for a podcast before. If you follow news about Trump's legal issues, the podcast “Bag Man” is the most interesting thing you can listen to. This is a brilliant public service for Americans, and a fascinating deep dive for everyone else.

I am too young to have an appreciation for the story - but I now have a complete understanding. What stands out is how current day shenanigans are mirror images to the actions of Agnew. Thank you for bringing this story to current day mainstream so people can see the similarities.

Rachel Maddow is more than a broadcast journalist. She is a story teller of the highest order. She captures the facts, then shares them in a “ I need-to-know-more-tell-me-more” way that will not let you stop listening. I couldn’t turn this off. She’s brilliant!
