Painstakingly researched, engagingly told, with compelling interviews of the backstage players at the time. No unnecessary editorializing: The incredible parallels to today that have been left for the listener to draw.

Extremely well researched account of VP Agnew’s crimes and resignation. Compulsively listenable.

This podcast uncovers the hidden story behind Spiro Agnew's resignation as VP. Very little of this was known and reported at the time.

This was an awesome podcast! I learned a lot from listening to it. A lot of things I didn’t even know about. I love Rachel Maddow and she out did herself with this podcast. Well done Rachel!

Best, most prepared Podcast ever! I lived thru the Nixon era, but never understand what was happening behind the scenes. This explained and told the story in a wonderful way. Fantastic!

Very interesting story, but the amount of bloat interjected into the story line is highly distracting. Entire series could have been done beautifully and concisely in 4 episodes.

Bravo. You’ve made history relevant to Canadians and Americans . I didn’t know about Agnews story. You reminded all of us how principled people can stop evil men who corrupt laws and governments. Me first time I tried podscast: Nah, too boring. This is not for me. Me after Bag Man (and I really mean each emoji): 😲 🤩 🤭 😍 😍 👏🏼 👍 🥇 🏆 😍 🤳 My thoughts: Is Rachel Maddow a regular human being, same DNA as the rest of us??? Is there something that she’s not good at??? I was 22 when all these crimes were coming to pass and like many, I was consumed with Nixon’s lies & coverups more than Agnew’s misdeeds, however after listening to this insightful and well researched podcast, I can honestly say that I truly missed half of the political picture of the times. Rachel has told in her own gripping way a political story that for anyone who was younger than 20 in 1973 had no idea of the depths of Agnews own criminal story. I just assumed he went down because of Watergate. How could there be two distinct political crises going on at the same time? It is a...Read full review »

I'm going out on a limb here and saying that BAG MAN was inspired by the success of SLOW BURN. This journalist is not a legitimate source of information. Her reporting is politically biased and untrustworthy. Her many false news stories are all over the internet. More of a political activist than journalists. Anything she reports is more propaganda than fact.

I new Spirow Agnew only as a boogey man in Robert Anton Wilsons "illuminatius" books. So, this is a great primer about the historical Agnew. Not quite as strong as "Slow Burn" but that is solely due to the story being much more straightforward. Definitely worth listening to.
