This was a fascinating retelling of history from my lifetime that I was totally unaware of as a high school sophomore. I hope to find more of these types of historically enlightening stories in the future. Job well done by everyone involved.

Great podcast series - it should be made into a movie and you’ve got to use the same music soundtrack!!

Thanx, Rachel. I really enjoyed reminiscing about the end of the Nixon presidency.

Greatly enjoyed this podcast series. Agree that best put aside a few hours to listen to it in one sitting. (To the nasty haters of Rachel leaving disgraceful bad reviews here, shame on you!)

Ms Maddow is always good for laugh with her misplaced crises and her closed-minded allegiance to the progressive church. Her closest friends should let her know that no one takes her seriously because her responses to the news are conditioned and predictable. She is the opposite of integrity and...Read full review »

I can’t believe it took me until 2020 to find this! Each episode is out together so well, and so easy to keep up with. Even for people that don’t know about the Nixon Era, it catches you up, but for us that do know. They have soooo many other angles & insights I never would have known about....Read full review »

I knew that this would be well explained and researched, and I'm so right. Thank you, thank you, thank you Rachel and the rest of your crew. I want more, like the Bush’s rise to power and the Bush/Gore race. There has to be some crazy only you and your producers can dig up.Read full review »

This is such a parallel story of what is going on in our white house today. Who will be our George Bell? I was too young to remember this and I cant see anyone doing what that justice dept did. Great story telling by Rachel Maddow as usual.

It’s true. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And here we are. Again. Dr. Maddow is at her best when she’s speaking on issues that she feels passionately about. I have been wondering since Roger Stone appeared on the scene how long it would take for someone to pick...Read full review »

Great job by Ms Maddow and her crew. Didn’t take any break until I finished all episodes. A clear mirror to what is happening now in Trump’s administration. Respect.

WOW this was an amazing story. I was a young teenager in the early 70’s and given there were only 3 TV stations I was exposed to the Nixon Impeachment. Little did I know it would spark my interest in politics. This unknown angle of that story told now years later really adds to the intrigue but...Read full review »

Rachel Maddow continues to raise the bar with this fascinating and history packed podcast. As a Brit studying history and politics Agnew has never been anything other than a peripheral figure in the Watergate scandal. This podcast bought him and his place in US history into such sharp focus it...Read full review »

I was seven in 1973 so I don’t have any first hand knowledge of Watergate. This was truly informative, and not boring. Wish I would have listened to it when it came out in 2018! Congratulations on your Peabody award nomination!

I listen to podcasts all the ...this was the best ever!!! Thank you Rachel for putting together such an informative series. I did not know most of this story. Looking at our news stories today I am reminded of the saying “History has a way of repeating itself.” Thanks again

I know very little about America’s history or politics. This was an interesting piece of storytelling.

it feels exploitative to abuse Maddow’s impeccable reputation by promoting Mathew’s podcast here. All MSNBC commentators are not at all the same, at all.

I’ve been absolutely fascinated by Nixon administration’s 2nd presidential campaign and term for ages, and I’m excited to get another aspect of the story. Listening to this other scandal that was occurring at the same time as Watergate is riveting. The backstory, interviews and research that went into this podcast was superb. Between Rachel’s books, show and this podcast she is my favorite explainer. Please Rachel do more podcasts.

It took we a while to get to listening to Bagman. It’s a year later and the house has just impeached Trump. Being older than I ever thought I would get, the story of Spiro is a foggy memory of my past. Back then I was a Republican like my father. Rachel Maddow is a neoliberal lunatic who promotes Cold War style conspiracy theories and talking points from corporate lobbyists. History returns. If they hadn’t gotten Agnew out he’d have been the corrupt Potus after Nixon. Now we’re dealing with the same problem, however it’s The DOJ that’s in on the joke.
