Excellent storyline, research and presentation.
It’s Thursday, February 21st, 2019. Today, The Rachel Maddow Show is featuring a Special Report. Should I watch it or not? I decided to watch at least the first fifteen minutes, hoping by then Rachel would reveal the contents that were “Special” in her Special Report. Holy smokes! At about 15 minutes in, Rachel reviews the Table of Contents and picks up one or two teletext documents from Ted to the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia. Within the next ten minutes, she picks up these court documents and makes mention of the AG administrative rules on indictments and sitting presidents. At around 6:37 left coast time, I grabbed the remote, killed the tube, and ran upstairs to listen to The Bag Man through my earbuds. I didn’t want to miss a thing. I’m almost certain that I’m going to be able to link Rachel’s “Special Report” to whichever chapter of The Bag Man I last listened. My heart was beating like crazy. Ah hell, I thought. I’m going back to chapter one again. It was perfect. I created my own “Special Report” while laying in my bed listening to The Bag Man in its entirety for the third night in a role. My background is in internal relations and political economics, so I eat this stuff up like chocolate. The fact that Rachel Maddow, her producer, and the cast of The Bag Man are so knowledgeable - because they were actually there in 1973 when Agnew was cutting a deal to stay out jail - and just because The Bag Man was so professionally written and produced and presented via podcast...well, I was sure that combing TRMS’s “Special Report” with The Bag Man on Rachel’s podcast was the right thing to do this evening. Ms. Maddow, I’m not a professional reviewer, so I apologize if what I’ve provided here is worthless as reviews go. But I think you’re brilliant and your news products are absolutely invaluable. Moreover, the relevance of your work to today’s whacky world of politics inspires me to be a better citizen, a smarter voter, and a more active member of my community. You rock, Rachel - even in navy blue blazers. Thank You for stimulating my mind. V. Mehia
