Ballarat's children
Ballarat in western Victoria became the location of an epidemic of clerical paedophilia. The dark tragedy affects thousands of lives to this day. It is widely acknowledged the Catholic Church protected its worst offenders and moved them on to prey on new unsuspecting communities. What is not understood is the Victoria Police Force also bears a grave responsibility for the betrayal of Ballarat's children.

It’s an important story that needed telling, but sad and tragic. Lots of interviews with the victims and the police that tried in vein to prosecute. Thanks to the victims for speaking out. Only criticism is the sound is a bit low, hard to hear, especially episode 3.

Beyond belief.
Once again I’m left agog at the way individuals try and cover this up. Brilliant podcast and beautifully produced. The Australian always produce 1st class podcasts.

Eye opening
My only complaint is that it’s too short but very explosive.

In the wake of the Ryan-Day episode in 1972, rates of clerical offending exploded in the Ballarat Diocese. Priests and religious figures preyed upon children with impunity, and victims did not know where to turn.
