Episode 38
Hosts Brad and Erin were engaging and delightful to listen to during my commute. I enjoyed hearing them share their love of their profession. The interview between host Brad and guest Jon was insightful, exploring an area not traditionally tapped into for supporting students. These two teachers connected a core subject (history) with an elective (musical theater) to make a super course on the popular musical Hamilton. Not only did they connect the departments but they also combined their instruction as they team-taught the class. This dynamic duo's collaborative process also includes work outside the school walls and onto the football field where each leads a "team" that supports the work of the other. I applaud the work of these two educators and hope their students recognize the deeper meaning being modeled for them. I considered deducting one star from my review because neither Brad nor Jon acknowledged me as their common denominator, establishing the cosmic connection that would ultimately put this whole process in motion but decided not to be petty.Read full review »

These two gentlemen really know their stuff! This podcast covers a great range of band topics, and utilizes a whole new knowledge pool outside of other available band podcasts. This is not just for MN band directors!
