The knowledge gained from each episode can basically be summarized in two sentences all the while wasting twenty minutes to hear two people giggle.

I love the lightness and energy the hosts bring to this topic. I’m just starting out in computer science and this podcast explains things very clearly with great examples. I would recommend to anybody who wants to learn and laugh at the same time.

This is by far the best podcast on CS fundamentals to listen to in my opinion. The way Vaidehi Joshi and Saaron Yitbarek explain the basics of computer science with relatable metaphors, real life examples and a touch of humor is just mind blowing. They’re the perfect combo for this! Kudos to the...Read full review »

the hosts do a great job of explaining the concepts and providing context and asking counter-questions appropriate for a newbie, suggested sources to learn more about each topic would be great

I have been listening to a lot of episodes lately and last night I was stuck on a problem where I was losing track of browser timeouts I had set. I heard the hosts in the back of my head saying "you need a queue!" I implemented the queue and the problem was solved. Thanks Saron and Vaidehi!Read full review »

I devoured Seasons 1 and 2. Learned a lot and loved immensely! However, Season 3 is really losing my confidence. The tree traversal episodes are hard to follow given the structure of the episodes, or the lack thereof. I find myself wondering about the real life examples and implications of the...Read full review »

These two have such perfect radio chemistry that anyone can just sit back and enjoy the podcast. It’s only at the end when you realize you just learned and still remember a bunch of cool concepts. Loving it.

This podcast is great! I just recently became a fan of coding and I’m on my journey towards becoming a developer. While there are many resources for learning the practical side of “how to code”, I found very little information on the theoretical side of Computer Science. BaseCS is just what I was...Read full review »

The way you describe encoding and Unicode is completely wrong. Just for example, the real em dash character is a Unicode character. The reason that you type it for HTML purposes with an ampersand has to do with pre-Unicode (ASCII) problems. There are a lot of really good things about this...Read full review »

I could listen to Saron & Vaidehi for hours on end. I find them so fresh, honest, encouraging and informative. Vaidehi and Saron are funny and relatable, but their content is what distinguishes them from the rest of the tech podcast pack. They’ve put in the work to break down complex topics and find analogies that make them approachable. They are so good at taking abstract ideas from computer science and...Read full review »
