This podcast provides another level of detail and incorporates the point of view of the soldier. I have avoided "military history" in the past because it seemed boring. I am glad I found this even if I do cry because it's just so horrible. No one really wins a war "The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath" Led Zeppelin. Mike does a great job of describing the Somme offensive. His crisp style and attention to detail is top class. I have thoroughly enjoyed his first 17 episodes and highly recommend them.
