“I listened to my first podcast of ‘Beg to Differ with Mona Charen’ during the week of Oct. 26-30/20 and absolutely loved it. I couldn’t believe my ears … it was like a breath of fresh air. Everybody was so eloquent, deliberate (yes, I know being ‘deliberate’ over the airwaves can be problematic, but in this case, it is anything but), and respectful of each other. No interruptions, no talking over each other. Wow! The tone as set by Mona Charen was otherworldly relative to the noisy crap that overwhelm our discussions today. It truly reminded me of shows I admired long ago such as ‘Wall Street with Louis Rukeyeser ‘ (I’m sure Mona is chuckling right now saying something like …. “I’ve never been compared to Louis Rukeyeser … is that a compliment? Mona, in terms of running a panel, the answer is an emphatic, ‘Yes’) where bright minds discussed current issues in the markets. So, while the subject matter in these two cases is somewhat different, the way in which the discussion is conducted is very similar.
It’s funny. In my mind, Mona sometimes came across as being a bit ‘snippy’ when I used to watch her on ‘The Capital Gang’, but here she’s truly amazing. Likewise, when I’ve heard her on the Bulwark’s daily podcast with Charlie Sykes.
Finally, having George Will on as a guest just added to all of the pleasures of listening to the others (‘regulars’) on the panel.
Please keep it up!
