Good idea...
Not executed super well...not really deep dives on the subject, not helpful to have guest hosts who are deliberately ignorant (see Dani Fernandez: most obnoxious moron I wasn’t aware existed until yesterday but who I’ve now heard stumble through concepts with zero contribution of value for upwards of an hour). All that together means it seems aimed at people who want to really get into the wonky and weird aspects of these people’s lives but ultimately its superficial nonsense for superficial edgelords. Anyway, not much interest after the first batch but the Cosby dual part was interesting (with a guest who actually said something of merit once or twice). The Stalin one repeatedly referenced a great great book (Simon Sebag Montefiore’s double biography of the subject) but didn’t have the decency to recommend people actually read the book...baffling.

I am sitting here eating lunch and people are definitely staring at me because I cackling like a lunatic. This is my absolute favorite podcast and I’m now I’m spouting random facts about despots. Poor crocheting Teresa. I wonder who clued her in.

The show is interesting, but I don’t understand why he keeps having comedians come on as co-hosts. I think the content they’re discussing stands on it’s own and I find myself sometimes needing to power through hearing the comedians in order to learn about the facts they’re discussing.

The two part Cosby episodes were awesome. Informative and engaging discussion between Robert Evans and Edgar Momplaisir. I hope Edgar joins Robert often.
