I’ve been a fan of Arthur Snell since he began appearing on “Oh God What Now” several years ago, followed by the outstanding “Doomsday Watch” series. Arthur is a thoughtful and insightful analyst of geopolitics and consistently brings expert and thought-provoking guests into his shows. In a...Read full review »

I’ve been a follower of Arthur’s podcasts for the last year, this latest series is detailed, thoughtful and informative. The latest episode is fascinating (in a terrible sense) and offers little in the way of comfort or reassurance! My thanks to Arthur and his weekly contributors

Behind the lines is required listening for anyone who wants to understand the geopolitical currents, conflicts and diplomacy that shape the world. Hosted by a former diplomat who has been at the sharp end, the guests also tend to be experienced practitioners who are happy to cut through the...Read full review »

Arthur Snell lets the experts shine and really get into the weeds on complex issues. Great resource for the systemic issues at play and the global repercussions of conflicts.

Arthur Snell clearly knows what he’s talking about. His voice has been a vital one in these turbulent times, so I’m delighted to find he now has his own podcast. I consider his informed analysis an essential listen.

Always good to hear in-depth, balanced analysis from well informed experts. The episodes on Yemen have been particularly welcome in shedding light on a little understood and hugely oversimplified conflict.

I’ve been really enjoying listening to this podcast. There have been some excellent high quality guests and I have learnt a lot. I particularly enjoyed the interview with James O’Brien and the two parter with James Barr about the origins of the Israel-Palestine. This podcast series is more...Read full review »

If you only have time to listen to one podcast with an international focus, this is the one. Interesting and informative guests, balanced , well researched and presented.

Not bad on Ukraine, but immediately switched to Israel responsibility on the Gaza situation. Apparently different rules for Jews.

Good guests, well researched questioning and very thorough information on all of the topics covered. The sort of quality that I used o expect of television documentary and news but which has, sadly, all but disappeared.

Been following Arthur for a while and really like his international perspective, expertise and expert guests. Only slight criticism is the intros to these episodes sound very quiet and like Arthur is trying not to wake a sleeping baby or something :)

Great episode. It’s always good to hear some objectivity regarding the state of our country and I agree that it ended, surprisingly, on a positive note. Thank you Arthur, keep up the good work.

Brilliant podcast that is informative, insightful, realistic and important - in such times a listener might worry these attributes would also mean negative and depressing, but not only is there often hope and inspiration on offer as well, in fact the optimism counts for much more when presented...Read full review »

Arthur Snell is a deeply experienced analyst and commentator on events in some of the most fractious and complex countries in the world. As a former diplomat he clearly has insights beyond other commentators and is able to distill complex issues into an easily accessible format. I’ve followed his...Read full review »

Arthur is smart and balanced, with an excellent understanding of law, politics, diplomacy and national defence. The best explanation of the current state of the world. Recommended listening for those from the sensible centre right, centre left and anyone who cares about democracy.

Fascinating show. First few episodes have had raspy audio and the latest - ep 5 - is painful at times. Hopefully will be ironed out in the next episodes.

Amazing first episode, very much looking forward to rest of this series. Really appreciate such a detailed explanations of the multifaceted and evolving nature of the Putin regime, and the failed state that Russia has become.

Any podcast from Arthur Snell will be first class- and this one is no exception. His research and analysis is top drawer. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Arthur Snell’s podcasts are essential listening for anyone with an interest in current events, historical context and future implications. Guests are experts in their field and always bring a depth of knowledge and a measured view on the topics discussed.

A great start to a new podcast series. Arthur Snell interviews people very well, gives good context, asks intelligent questions and pertinent follow up questions….it is like a very good conversation rather than a series of talking points as in other podcasts. Sound quality is poor in a few places…
