“I have a few big issues here.
1. While I can sort of understand the point of discussing what sex trafficking really looks like vs. a sensationalized version, this point was convoluted at best. If you want us to be aware of the signs to look for (rather than looking for a “basement full of kids”) then I wish you had spent time discussing those signs. If 90% of cases are hard to recognize then you wasted an excellent opportunity to educate the public. But you chose to instead focus on bashing those who are working to bring sex trafficking to the forefront with an obvious bias. You bring on that one journalist and let him ramble about how horrible Tim Ballard is then you have Paul Hutchinson on and interject your opinion about what he’s saying in the middle of his interview? And when you said “reputable sources such as the NYT” I almost laughed out loud. And since when is caring about human trafficking “right wing”? I just can’t understand why you’d spend soooo much time minimizing human trafficking. That may not have been your intention but it certainly comes across that way
2. I take issue with the podcast as whole at this point. I feel like Coco is suffering with mental and emotional issues and this entire podcast is exploitative. There never seems to be any real concern for her well being, just a concern for a story. Something obviously happened to her, as many people you interviewed mentioned, but it’s not something that the podcast seems that interested in talking about. Even the tone of the host and show runner comes across like you’re making fun of her. Not okay.”
