Not what I had hoped for
I appreciate Liz's enthusiasm and her intentions -- obviously this subject matter is very dear to her -- but as a listener, I am not at all excited by these podcasts. The interviews are so loose and take so long to get to the point that I can't wait around. Some of her introductions take as long as five minutes, and then saying hello and getting to know the guest can take several more minutes. The interview itself is unedited: stammering, repetition of the same concepts, and long pauses -- something my attention span can't hang with. What could be said in a couple of minutes takes forever to convey due to this problem, so I am not getting much out of listening. I wish that Ms. Covart could script and edit her work to make it MUCH more succinct; she could pack so much more valuable information into these podcasts! I would not be so critical if I weren't starving for a really wonderful American history podcast.Read full review »

The only negative I could comment on is that sometimes...Read full review »

I love this podcast. Historian Liz Covart interviews an Early American historian for each episode. Their discussion hones in on social, economic, political, religious, and cultural aspects of early American life for ordinary individuals, the founders, enslaved people, and others.
