More nuanced
Any theories as to why a lot of the same accounts of reported victims of ritual abuse are subject to similar practices of trauma induced bonding with abusers? Such as so many accounts of children being buried alive in coffins and “rescued” by their abuser or caretaker? Why do so many details of these accounts overlap? Just because it didn’t happen to EVERY person who reports doesn’t mean it didn’t happen to some of them. This is akin to the fallacy so eloquently outlined by Jim in the Michael Jackson case. Just because MacCauley Kulkin might not have been abused doesn’t mean he didn’t abuse others. I also believe that being from the Bronx might have contributed to different biases especially when dealing with this kind of folk religious practice often reported in urban environments. I’m not saying anyone should believe QAnon but it also shouldn’t negate the proclaimed victims stories so easily. Just be careful invalidating victims stories.

Such a well done podcast. I am not an overly emotional person but both episodes have evoked a lot of emotion. It is really quite an experience to hear from professionals who lived and worked through various real life stories and are so passionate in doing their job for the victims and survivors.
