Good premise but bad takes
The premise for this podcast is what drew me in, as I’d started my own “watch all best picture winners” a few years ago. I didn’t particularly warm to the hosts, who I found to have quite a high opinion of their own opinions. Even though I almost always agree with their takes, the holier-than-thou view of social issues was often grating. However I persisted as I like film history and wanted to finish the journey. But following the most recent episode and their joyful laughter after several crass and tasteless jokes about 9/11, I had to unsubscribe.

More reviews of The Best Pick movie podcast
Honestly it’s great. Amiable, chatty, conversational, interesting. Lots of film facts and an incentive to watch all the best movie picks as well. Love it. Strongly recommend.

Possibly my favorite group of hosts to listen to. Their preparation for each show is impeccable and I always come away feeling like I learned something about films or the movie industry.

❤️ this podcast. The hosts are lovely, engaging, knowledgeable, & fun. If you are a movie fan, this podcast is a must. It’s about so much more than the Best Picture Oscar, it’s an entertaining movie history class.
