“With countless movie based podcasts competing for attention, separating the winners from the also-rans might be a very time consuming challenge. Best Pick has quickly become my favourite podcast. Meticulously researched and entertainingly presented from a critic and a fan’s perspective, the three presenters’ passion for and knowledge of their subject matter makes for a fascinating podcast. The ‘making of’ deep dive conversations around The Deer Hunter and Titanic and many others are insightfully shocking.
I’ve been attempting a similar undertaking over the last couple of years, reappraising all best picture nominees in an attempt to right the (many) wrongs of the Academy that’s allowed me to watch so many wonderful films. An experience greatly improved by this excellent pod.”
