Feminism and being a pastor Historically speaking in the Christian church, the first creature [to find Jesus] was a woman, so you know, I’m just trying to do right by Mary. For Pastor Tara, feminism is treating women as people. Why is there a fear around women stepping into leadership roles? I think there’s western civilization, like America and Christianity right, and there’s so much tied up in that idea that is not necessarily – and this is kind of a revolutionary thought – the heart of Christianity. (Tara) The heart of Christianity is loving your neighbor, yourself, and God. Jesus did a lot by speaking up for women. There are so many examples of Him raising and lifting up people, women included. Pastor Tara thinks Jesus would want everyday people to do, men and women working together. How do you build resilience against criticism?
