Sadly not the same since Sam Delaney left, what worked so well was the dynamic between Sam & Bruce. Bruce had the information on the films and Sam was incredibly funny. With Sam departing so has the comedy sadly.

Only started this podcast this week and started with the Tango & Cash episode. Very very funny. Have listened to new and old episodes (Sam and now James are excellent co hosts). The Jack Palance impression (Young Guns) has my sides hurting. Keep up the great work, gents!

If you loved the 80s - and let’s face it why wouldn’t you? Listen to this, the only retro 80s film and TV podcast that matters. And then fast forward into the 90s or go further back in time to the 70s by signing up to the Pirate Video Crew. You know it makes sense

Am missing Sams wise cracking a bit but still a good listen with the main man Bruce 🤟

Not nearly as good without Sam Delaney. Bruce’s new co-host James doesn’t really contribute much, whereas Sam very much had his own opinions, and kept Bruce from straying from “encyclopaedic” to “self indulgent”.

Another cracker of an episode for Batman! 100% agree that Michael Keaton is the best Batman & Marvel villain.

80’s + humor = must subscribe. I love listening and then rewatching the films.

I only discovered this podcast a few weeks ago and I’ve smashed through them all already. A great 80s podcast where two hilarious 40 something cockney wide boys review all the 80s movies they liked as kids. Not only are they very funny they genuinely love the movies they review. They also...Read full review »

Great podcast, reviewing films I loved as a kid. The review of An American Werewolf in London had me crying with laughter, well played guys. Long live Dr Hirsch 😂😂😂

So many good films getting covered here. I treat this like a book club: see which film they talk about> watch it then listen to the episode and it’s a delight. Although I nearly gave this fewer stars because Delaney doesn’t like Big Trouble In Little China. Kurt Russell’s finest performance
Sammy Plookett via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/31/20
Love every episode, takes me right back to the 80s, those halcyon days when everything was so simple, rent a video, put it in the top loader betamax video machine and press play. These guys are hilarious 🤣 m

No idea what they’re on about with 75% of these films but each episode’s been good for a laugh nonetheless. The Predator episode brought me back to all those 80’s action films my dad and brothers would spend hours watching when I was a kid in the 90s. Would love a bit if Van Damme in Babylon.

The Empire Strikes Back special got me hooked and I’ve been listening since. It’s great to hear the camaraderie between Bruce and Sam, another cracking podcast. Give it a listen.

Brilliant. I love a proper 80’s film. The way they dissect the film is very funny. Keep them coming! Trading places , Great out doors etc would be great

The 1980’s was the golden age of cinema, so of course a reflective podcast on the era is right up my street. This podcast often has me in creases, love it!

So funny whether you like 80’s movies or not. The hosts bounce off each other well, and even movies that I havnt watched (and didn’t really want to) are now on my film planner! Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!! 👌

This podcast is funny as all get out. My only criticism is Bruce’s audio is sub audible compared to Sam. Any way to level them?

Really love this podcast, it’s really funny and covers some great movies. It’s also responsible for introducing the phrase “I see you’ve had some training, Mayonnaise” into regular use between me and my mate, which can only be a good thing. Keep up the good work fellas.

Like the chat and rapport, especially being a TFTM fan. Obviously early days so imagine format will evolve over time, sometimes can’t tell if it’s going full comedy/piss take or serious. Enjoying it, keep it up chaps!

2 guys who would usually be found round the pub fruity review classic 80’s movies. But they don’t bother with things like method acting, Oscar worthy cinematography or the directors vision. Love Sam Delaney. One of the most genuinely engaging and entertaining journalists who I could listen to all day.. Could no longer support the toxicity of his co-presenter on another pod, so this gives me a great fix of his anecdotal memories of growing up through the 80s. Quality stuff 👌🏻

Why not take a look at one of your favourite old movies? Then.... take nuggets of playfully stupid scenes or dialogue, mock them lovingly and go off on tangents to make you howl with laughter....

If you’re 40+ in years, you’ll get it. The cultural references, the gags, the whole lot. Film reviews that leave you feeling happy and reminiscent about your youth. If you’re not in this age bracket you’ll still get it but you have so much more of your life left in front of you, you jammy gits.
