Excellent, versatile and always entertaining!
This delightful podcast looks back to a different film from the 80's for each episode and explore what it is about it that makes it so beloved, iconic or memorable - Rich is the excellent regular host but each week there's a different guest (though some have come back for a second appearance) and it's this element which gives the show its spark, as the series manages to stay fresh and full of variety and different opinions. Sometimes the show is very funny, sometimes it's very insightful, most of the time it's both of these things at the same time. I would recommend having seen the film in question before you listen to the podcast as often they will talk about the film's plot in detail! Also, some of the early episodes have a few technical issues (some sound drop outs), but it's a testament to the show's quality content that it didn't really bother me! Besides, these problems are ironed out as the series progresses, so please, please, please stick with it! Top, top stuff!Read full review »

Only just come across this after the recent Dead Zone podcast (one of my favs). It’s a real joy to listen to films that I still find brilliant to this day and the genuine affection the reviewers have is obvious. Can’t wait for more of the same!

My expectations were low given lots of these types of podcasts around but wanted to listen to the one on Planes Trains & Automobiles. Very well informed, stayed on point and gave a very concise overview of a film that has special memories. Recommended.

I personally love a nostalgia film podcast and this one does it really well. Great to hear the genuine, warm enthusiasm that you get from this. I loved the latest episode on The Thing, in particular, which is quite possibly my favourite film of all time!
