“The premise of this podcast (season 1) is good. It’s an enticing story and keeps the listener engaged. However, I immediately noticed the use of the word “affair” to refer to the SA victim as opposed to what it was, which is SA. I also noticed when the podcasters began speaking about the victim and Jennifer said, “she’s the victim in all of this” and the producers responded with “so are you”. Yes Jennifer was also a victim but not to the same level as this high school student who was taken advantage of! Overall, they need to be more careful about the language used. But it really does exemplify how we see victims in our society.”
