“I wasn’t sure when it first started how I would enjoy it. I think the podcast is about more than the story of his crimes. It’s about understanding how these things start. How people like Spence compartmentalize. It could help people recognize manipulators and abusers. It’s an interesting and first hand take on these types of events. It makes it victim centric rather than simply true crime gawking. Some other commenters said it just sounds like a heartbroken wife working through things. They aren’t wrong, but that’s a beautiful and raw thing. These are the conversations we usually hide away, we tear down, we compartmentalize… The question about whether or not he mentioned her does feel important as it seems he framed it differently to each other woman or girl. It’s also okay to work through things and to refer to someone by the name you always called them. Because that was the name you knew them by when they felt more familiar. It’s also okay to work through these things without it meaning you are “hung up” on them. It means you are processing things. I commend the courage and strength of everyone involved, except Spence. Also, podcasts cost money to make. Get over the ads or pay for your content, people.”
