“Like the "Mad Men Happy Hour" podcast that introduced me to Bald Move, Jim and A.Ron’s “Better Cast Saul” is an example of good, entertaining podcasting. The goods are delivered with honest, dry wit, and are the obvious result of research and attention to detail. The occasional overlooking or misunderstanding of an obvious feature is to be expected, given their ambitious production schedule, but they still manage to provide much more insight and information than they ever miss. Their nicknames for showrunners, characters, and tropes are clever and addicitve. The ‘cast has attitude, but it also has humility, by which I mean that Jim and A.Ron never forget that the show being discussed is the star of the 'cast. I’ve abandoned so many other podcasts by “reviewers" who seem to find themselves more fascinating than the shows they are ostensibly there to review, but I actually started watching “Better Call Saul” in part because I wanted to hear what these guys had to say about it on “Better Cast Saul.” I can think of no higher service a podcast can perform for its subject. Kudos!”Read full review »
