“It’s hard to take an epic figure like Bill Gates seriously anymore.
I’ve respected him and his accomplishments my whole life, he’s been at the forefront of philanphropic and capitalistic success.
It’s hard to take that seriously, or consider it a good thing, when it seems so omni-present anymore. There is no longer ‘another side’ - it’s his way, or, you’re a dolt.
I respect that a man of great wealth, can do what he wants.
But, parroting to be a health expert, without having gone through medical school, is always funny - because people like Mr. Gates then tell us to respect a Dr. Fauci.
That dichotomy, seems disingenuous to me, if not just misleading.
It’s concerning when one person can do a lot of good AND then get power from it.
Doing good is amazing. If the good done was not attached to his name, I think that would be a lot more motivating and empowering and inspiring.
But, when all you read in medical journals, when all of the news is supported by one foundation… You again start to wonder.. is dissent aloud? Is science encouraged anymore? Or, is just one way allowed to be right now?
So, there is a fundamental issue with listening to one man, with these inconsistencies, in my view.
I’m proud to be an American, and I’m proud America allowed Microsoft to be the power it is today. And I’m glad a person like Mr. Gates started it.
But, I’m awful nervous when a person, under the guise of good tidings, starts dictating to all of us, what is right and wrong, and what we should and shouldn’t do.”
