Third Base: Adley Rutchman is good at baseball Let’s just say that, here at Bird’s Eye View, we have fallen Truly. Adley. Deeply. Home Plate: Predictions In 2023, we predicted that the division was out of reach because the Rays were running away with it. Here in 2024, it looks like the AL East is a two-horse race between the Orioles and Yankees. So… is it too early to predict “who will own it?” Status of the Pitching The Orioles’ pitching staff, despite giving up 9 runs to the Diamondbacks on Sunday, have averaged about 2.86 runs per game in May. On a team with serious star power on the offensive side of the ball, the pitching staff is more than holding up its end of the bargain.
