“I heard about your podcast in a Facebook group for foreign mothers in Istanbul. I became pregnant (first timer) soon after relocating to Turkey. Being in a new country and in a new situation of being pregnant, I wanted more information about natural birth and someone in that group suggested your podcast! The place that I live in Turkey is a bit more old fashioned and the foreigner community is almost non-existent. Even though I know Turkish quite well, I needed support from someone that was updated and supportive of natural birth (I have heard c-sections are often done here for “no reason”). I have received a ton of support and motivation from your podcast. Even about things that I didn’t think about before but are in fact, important to know. It’s helping me explain things better to my husband also since this is a first time thing for him too. I should add that he is very supportive of me and my labor decisions and never questions me about it. The females in his family are, again, old fashioned and not very well informed. Even though they have given birth or had c-sections. They freaked out when I continued to go to the gym, and I’m still only 13 weeks along. Husband at least, thank god, has confidence in me. It’s very sad how many people see being pregnant as a medical disability. I think I remember you mentioning this in an episode as well. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and information with the world! :)”
